Man United keen to extend Valencia's deal

Manchester United are reportedly eager for Antonio Valencia to sign a new contract with the club.

The Ecuador international has 18 months left to run on his current deal, which if no agreement over an extension is reached, would mean that he could discuss terms with other clubs from January 2015.

However, United manager David Moyes has been impressed by the 28-year-old since he took charge of United during the summer and as a result talks over fresh terms will begin shortly, according to The Mirror.

The report added that Valencia would want a rise in wages that would bring his earnings into line with fellow winger Nani.

Valencia joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2009 from Wigan Athletic.
