Man United 'identify Aarons as Trippier alternative'

Manchester United could reportedly switch their attention to Norwich City's Max Aarons if they fail to land Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils are seemingly keen to bring a new right-back to the club ahead of next season but have thus far been frustrated in their pursuit of Trippier.

According to ESPN, the 20-time English champions are unwilling to spend more than £30m on the England international, who has impressed for Atletico since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur.

The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could instead move for Aarons, who is also believed to be a target for Arsenal and Tottenham in the current market.

The 21-year-old excelled for Norwich during the 2020-21 campaign, contributing two goals and five assists in 45 league appearances for the Championship winners.

Aarons also made a strong impression for the Canaries during the 2019-20 season in the Premier League, despite his team's relegation back to the second tier.
