Manchester United 'considering big-money Lautaro Martinez move'

Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez emerges as a transfer target for Manchester United, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

The 23-year-old was strongly linked with Barcelona over the summer, but the Catalan giants could not come to an agreement with Inter over a transfer fee.

Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that Chelsea had made an attempt to sign the Argentina international in the recent transfer window, only to be knocked back by the player himself.

Martinez has carried his impressive form from last season into the 2020-21 campaign, already finding the back of the net on three occasions in four Serie A appearances.

According to reports in Spain, Man United are considering joining the race for the South American, with a big-money offer potentially being made during next summer's transfer window.

The 20-time English champions signed Edinson Cavani on transfer deadline day, but the Uruguay international is not a long-term option in the final third of the field, while Anthony Martial has struggled to convince this season.

Martinez, who has a contract at San Siro until June 2023, has scored 33 times in 88 appearances for his current side since arriving from Racing Club in July 2018.
