Manchester United 'concerned about Dean Henderson future'

Manchester United officials are reportedly concerned that goalkeeper Dean Henderson will soon hand in a transfer request at Old Trafford.

Manchester United officials are reportedly worried that goalkeeper Dean Henderson may look to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

After two seasons as first-choice stopper on loan at Sheffield United, Henderson wanted regular game time at United this season in a bid to make England's Euro 2020 squad.

While the 23-year-old is expected to be picked by Gareth Southgate, making just 12 starts in all competitions has kept him behind Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope in the pecking order.

According to The Athletic, some key figures behind the scenes feel that it is only a matter of time before Henderson voices his frustration, potentially demanding a transfer to another club.

Henderson penned a five-year contract in 2020 seemingly on the understanding that he would make more than two starts in the Premier League during the current campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund are said to be monitoring the situation.
