Manchester United close to agreeing deal for Fabian Ruiz?

Real Betis central midfielder Fabian Ruiz is close to joining Manchester United in a £26.3m deal, according to a report.

The Red Devils are said to have been in a direct battle with Barcelona for the 22-year-old, who contributed to nine goals in La Liga this season.

Spanish outlet Don Balon suggests that United have won the race, as terms are close to being agreed between the three parties.

Ruiz spent time on loan at Elche last year and has been capped five times by Spain at Under-21s level.

United are expected to lose Marouane Fellaini this summer, while Michael Carrick has retired and Paul Pogba recently cast doubt on his future.
