Man United 'agree deal for Brighton teenager Collyer'

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to sign Brighton & Hove Albion teenager Toby Collyer.

The 18-year-old, who operates as a defensive midfielder, is believed to have failed to agree terms on a new contract with Brighton, which led to him joining Man United on trial.

According to the Daily Mail, the 20-time English champions have now agreed a contract with the former England Under-17s international, who featured for Man United Under-23s last month.

The report claims that Collyer has impressed the club's coaching staff with his training level, and the teenager has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford.

Chelsea are also believed to have expressed an interest in signing the Englishman, who made his debut for Brighton Under-23s against Tottenham Hotspur Under-23s last January.

Collyer will leave Brighton having made 25 appearances for the Seagulls in the Under-18s Premier League, FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2.
