Manchester City are reportedly ready to rival Manchester United in the race to sign Juventus defender Joao Cancelo.

Manchester City have reportedly decided to enter the race to sign Juventus defender Joao Cancelo.

The Portugal international is nearing the end of his first campaign in Turin, but the right-back may be allowed to leave the club for the right amount of money.

Manchester United are said to hold an interest in the 24-year-old, but according to Corriere dello Sport, City are ready to rival their neighbours.

Kyle Walker, Danilo, and John Stones can all play in that area of the pitch, although it appears that Pep Guardiola is looking for like-for-like backup for Walker.

Cancelo - who still has just over four years remaining on his contract - could cost as much as €60m (£51.01m).
