Real Madrid 'not interested' in signing Wayne Rooney

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague insists that Real Madrid are not interested in signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Real Madrid reportedly have no plans to launch a summer bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Rumours emerged overnight claiming that the Spanish giants were considering a swoop for the England international.

It has been suggested that Madrid would be keen on bringing Rooney to the Bernabeu if United are successful in their pursuit of £37m-rated Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.

However, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has stated on Twitter that Madrid have "zero interest" in Rooney.

The striker was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, but United were able to keep hold of the forward.

Wayne Rooney celebrates scoring against Manchester City on December 09, 2012.
