Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente is reportedly waiting for an approach from Manchester United before making a decision on his future.

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente is waiting for an approach from Manchester United before making a decision on his future, according to a report.

The 34-year-old was released by the North London club in the summer after scoring 13 goals in 66 appearances following his arrival from Swansea City.

Although the former Juventus striker has attracted interest from the likes of Lazio, Inter Milan and Fiorentina, he is believed to be waiting for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to make a late move for his services.

The Sun reports that United are interested in signing the Spanish international to provide more options up front alongside Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood following the departure of Romelu Lukaku earlier this month.

The report suggests that any move for the forward would hinge upon the future of Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, who is currently in negotiations with Inter over a possible loan switch with a view to a permanent deal in 2020.

Antonio Conte's side are expected to pay half of the former Arsenal star's £500,000-a-week wage at Old Trafford, which would free up some cash for the Red Devils to bring in Llorente.
