Lille boss Christophe Galtier has admitted that he is unsure if midfielder Boubakary Soumare will join Manchester United before the end of the transfer window.
United and Premier League rivals Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old, who has spent the past three seasons in Lille's first team.
Paris Saint-Germain academy product Soumare has started 20 Ligue 1 and Champions League games this season, but Galtier has not ruled out an exit this month.
"I don't know," he responded when asked about Soumare's future at Friday's press conference. "No-one's told me anything about his situation.
"I don't know. He wants to play and fight with the other players to win on Sunday. That's certain."
Soumare has been capped four times by France at Under-21s level and is believed to be valued in the region of £40m.
