Leicester set Man Utd deadline for Harry Maguire deal

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that there will be a deadline for any deal to take defender Harry Maguire away from the King Power Stadium.

Speculation continues to hover over the England international with both Manchester United and Manchester City reportedly bidding for his signature.

Foxes boss Rodgers has told the press that a move for the 26-year-old will need to take place far in advance of the transfer window closing as he looks to build his own squad for the 2019-20 season.

He said: "If the valuation isn't met, it certainly won't be allowed to go to the very end, because if we did want to bring someone in, it would be too late. So there will be some point in time where, even if the valuation is met, it may be too late.

"There are obviously targets we have in mind if Harry was to move on. But we don't have to sell and we don't need to sell."

Both Manchester clubs are believed to have made offers of around £60m, with Leicester holding out for £80m.
