Juventus 'now leading the race for Paul Pogba'

Juventus are at the head of the queue to re-sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, according to a report.

Juventus are reportedly now at the head of the queue for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The France international continues to be strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and it had been thought for a long period that Real Madrid were the favourites to sign him.

The Spanish giants are allegedly on the verge of securing a deal for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, though, which is expected to see them cool their interest in Pogba.

According to Tuttosport, Juve are now the favourites to re-sign the 2018 World Cup winner this summer as he prepares to seek pastures new.

Pogba, who is currently on the sidelines following ankle surgery, is seemingly unlikely to leave Old Trafford this month but will be allowed to depart at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

That said, the 20-time English champions are still thought to value the Frenchman in the region of £150m, suggesting that Juve will have to come up with a substantial offer in order to complete a deal.

United are currently short of options in the middle of the park with Scott McTominay also injured, leaving Fred and Nemanja Matic as the club's only fit senior central midfielders.
