Jose Mourinho wants to bring Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to Roma this summer, according to a report.

Incoming Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to follow him to the Italian giants during this summer's transfer window.

Mourinho has already been announced as the Serie A outfit's new head coach for the 2021-22 campaign, and the Portuguese is expected to overhaul the squad in the upcoming market.

According to TodoFichajes, the 58-year-old is determined to sign De Gea, who could be allowed to leave the 20-time English champions this summer.

The Spain international was between the sticks against Roma on Thursday evening as Man United booked their spot in the final of the Europa League courtesy of an 8-5 aggregate success.

De Gea has lost his number one spot to Dean Henderson, though, and the Red Devils are said to be open to the idea of the 30-year-old moving on.

The report claims that a bid in the region of €25m (£23m) could be enough to sign the former Atletico Madrid youngster as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are keen to shift his substantial wages.

De Gea played under Mourinho at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018.
