Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is determined to secure a return to Borussia Dortmund in January, according to a report.

Jadon Sancho is reportedly determined to secure a return to Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window despite firm interest from Italian giants Juventus.

The 23-year-old has not featured for Manchester United since entering the field as a late substitute in his side's 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on August 26.

There were eyebrows raised when Sancho was left out against Arsenal at the start of September, and Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said after the match with the Gunners that poor performances on the training ground had led to the attacker missing out on a spot in the squad.

Sancho took to social media to insist that was not the case, effectively branding his manager a liar, and the relationship between the two individuals has now broken down.

At one stage, it appeared that an apology from the ex-Manchester City youngster would see him reinstated, but it is now believed that there is no going back, with Sancho set to move on in January.

Juventus have been heavily linked with the attacker, with the Italian giants believed to be at the head of the queue for his services.

However, a report on Friday claimed that Man United and Dortmund had met to discuss a possible swap deal, with Sancho returning to BVB and Donyell Malen moving to Old Trafford.

Malen is said to be of interest to Man United ahead of the January transfer window, and it appears that there is a genuine chance of an agreement being reached.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Sancho wants to return to Dortmund in the winter market and would pick a move back to the club over any other potential transfer.

The Englishman starred for the Bundesliga outfit between 2017 and 2021, making 137 appearances in all competitions, scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in the process.

Sancho has found it difficult to make his mark for Man United, though, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the club in all competitions.

An impressive pre-season led to claims that the attacker would start the 2023-24 campaign in the team's first XI, but he only appeared off the bench in the last three games of the season.

A recent report claimed that there could be a route back for Sancho at Old Trafford under incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

However, it is widely thought that too much time has now passed for the relationship between Ten Hag and Sancho to be rebuilt, with both parties wanting to cut ties next month.
