According to Football Insider, Inter Milan are open to offers for Martinez as they look raise funds for planned spending in the summer transfer window.
The report also claims that United have identified the 25-year-old as an alternative to first-choice target Harry Kane, with the Inter forward said to be available for around £70m.
It is believed that the World Cup winner is viewed by Ten Hag as the "perfect forward", who would be able to lead Man United's press and chase down defenders with intensity.
The Red Devils will be looking to take another step towards Champions League qualification on Thursday night when they travel to the South Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
