Haaland's father addresses transfer talk amid Man United links

Erling Braut Haaland's father said that his son is already at "a fantastic club" when asked about what the future could hold for the Borussia Dortmund centre-forward.

The Norway international is widely expected to leave BVB next summer, with some of Europe's leading clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, believed to be preparing to compete for his signature.

A recent report claimed that Man United are determined to sign the 21-year-old next year, having missed out on a move when he was at Red Bull Salzburg.

Haaland has again been in excellent form at club level this season, scoring 13 times in 10 appearances, but he is expected to remain on the sidelines until the early stages of 2022 due to a hip flexor issue.

The forward's father, Alf-Inge Haaland, refused to give anything away when questioned on the Norwegian's future, but he was keen to pay tribute to "fantastic club" Dortmund.

"We'll see about that (Haaland's next club). Look behind me, at this beautiful stadium. Now there are 67,000 people inside, but normally it's 82,000. He's in a fantastic club. We'll take those things as they come," Alf-Inge Haaland told journalist Arilas Ould-Saada.

The former Bryne youngster has scored 70 goals in 69 appearances for his current side in all competitions, following on from the 29 strikes that he managed in 27 outings for Salzburg.
