Haaland denies he priced himself out of United move

Erling Braut Haaland has hit back at suggestions that he priced himself out of a move to Manchester United prior to joining Borussia Dortmund last month.

The highly-rated striker was top of United's wishlist in the January window, only to instead sign a £17m deal with Bundesliga title challengers Dortmund.

Haaland's agent Mino Raiola is rumoured to have asked for a share of any future sales of the Norway international as part of the transfer, forcing the Red Devils to withdraw from talks.

However, the 19-year-old has refuted those "comical" claims, telling Viasport: "The guys writing that would have to speak about it. They'll have to explain it to me if they meet me. It's not my focus, whatsoever.

"It's kind of comical if I were to get that label. All the people closest to me know that's not the kind of person I am. It's really been kind of comical."

"[Raiola] is the best in the world at what he does, as simple as that. He's the best agent. He gets a lot of negativity, and that's probably because he's doing such a great job for those he's working for.

"He has helped a lot and he's a good guy to have around."

Haaland has scored eight goals in five games since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg.
