Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Gregory van der Wiel from Paris Saint-Germain.

Signing a new right-back is a priority, but Dani Alves, who was believed to be the club's top target, has ended the speculation surrounding his future by signing a new two-year deal with Barcelona.

However, the Daily Mail claims that Van Gaal could turn to Van der Wiel as PSG are willing to sell the Dutch defender with just one year remaining on his current deal.

The 27-year-old, who worked with Van Gaal in the Netherlands side, is also reportedly attracting interest from Roma.
