Fred 'given assurances over Man Utd future'

Manchester United midfielder Fred has reportedly been reassured over his chances of first-team football this season.

After failing to make an impact during his first year at Old Trafford, Fred has also failed to start any of United's first three Premier League fixtures this season.

Given his position in the pecking order, it has been claimed that Fiorentina are attempting to tie up a loan deal for the Brazil international before the end of the summer transfer window.

However, according to The Times, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the 26-year-old that he will be provided with opportunities over the course of the current campaign.

Solskjaer has previously said that he is expecting 'a big season' from the former Shakhtar Donetsk player, who cost in excess of £50m.
