Ferguson: 'No bids for Berbatov'

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that the club have not received any bids for Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a host of European clubs after falling out of favour at Old Trafford last season, but Ferguson has claimed that "nothing has happened".

"Nothing has happened with Dimitar and he'll join the tour to South Africa and China. He's a fantastic footballer," Ferguson told MUTV.

"It wasn't a great season for him last season, partly because I settled more with Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck... and Chicharito.

"I don't think I treated Dimitar unfairly, but he can feel disappointed that he didn't get more football. He's a fantastic talent."

Berbatov joined United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
