Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will reportedly not let Donny van de Beek leave the club this summer despite interest from Ajax.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has told Ajax that Donny Van de Beek will not be leaving the club this summer.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in 2020, Van de Beek has struggled at United, starting only four league games while he spent the second half of last season on loan at Old Trafford.

United were hopeful that the arrival of Ten Hag - who managed Van de Beek at Ajax - would help the Netherlands international settle at the club, but he has only made substitute appearances in the opening two league games.

However, according to The Sun, Ten Hag will not allow the 25-year-old to leave this summer despite Ajax showing an interest.

The United head coach has been surprised by Van de Beek's lack of confidence, but still believes that he can become a first-team regular.

Although Ajax cannot afford the player's £100,000 a week wages, they hoped that United would subsidise the salary so they could take Van de Beek on loan for the season.
