Borussia Dortmund rule out Adnan Januzaj return to Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund's sporting director denies that out-of-favour Adnan Januzaj may end his loan agreement from Manchester United early.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has ruled out the possibility of Adnan Januzaj cutting short his loan spell to return to Manchester United.

The 20-year-old attacker has found first-team opportunities hard to come by on his season-long loan with Dortmund and is yet to start a Bundesliga game.

Many of his appearances have been spread over Europa League and DFB-Pokal action, prompting suggestions that the Red Devils could recall him early.

Thomas Tuchel's men sit second in Germany's top flight, losing just one of their first 12 games, and Zorc claims that Januzaj's lack of matches is simply down to the form of others.

Asked if the Belgium international could return to Old Trafford, he told Kicker: "That's currently not an issue.

"We play an extraordinary season, and the others do an incredible job. There is no reason to bench them."

Januzaj is yet to score a competitive goal for the Signal Iduna Park side.
