David de Gea expects to stay at Manchester United this summer and be the club's number one goalkeeper next term, according to a report.

David de Gea is reportedly expecting to stay at Manchester United this summer and be the club's number one goalkeeper at the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 30-year-old lost his spot to Dean Henderson in the latter stages of last season but was given the nod for the Europa League final against Villarreal, with the Spaniard ultimately missing the spot kick that allowed the La Liga outfit to triumph on penalties.

There has been speculation surrounding the stopper's future in recent weeks, with various reports claiming that either De Gea or Henderson will leave Old Trafford in the upcoming market.

However, according to The Sun, De Gea is certain that he will remain at the club in the coming months and is expecting to start next term as first choice.

The report claims that Man United value the former Atletico Madrid youngster in the region of £60m, while his substantial wages mean that a summer exit is unlikely.

De Gea, who is currently with the Spain squad preparing for this summer's European Championship, kept 12 clean sheets in 36 appearances during the 2020-21 season.
