David de Gea 'wants to stay at Man Utd'

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea reportedly wants to stay at the club, but only if they can match his wage demands.

De Gea's long-term future has been uncertain for a while now, with his current deal expiring in 2020 after United triggered a 12-month extension clause in November.

The Spaniard has regularly been linked with a move away from the club in recent years, and United's struggles under former boss Jose Mourinho are understood to have pushed him closer to the exit door due to a desire to win trophies.

However, De Gea has now decided that he would be willing to commit his long-term future to the club as long as he receives an offer of £300,000 per week including bonuses.

The 28-year-old currently earns £200,000 a week but believes that his status as one of the world's best goalkeepers is worth a significant pay rise if he is to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

De Gea produced one of his best United performances during Sunday's 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, making 11 saves in the second half alone to earn the Red Devils three crucial points at Wembley.
