Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly among six clubs interested in signing Lille forward Jonathan David on a free transfer.

Six clubs are reportedly in the running for Lille forward Jonathan David, with the Canada international set to become a free transfer at the end of June.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for his French club during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 23 goals and registering 10 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions, including nine goals and four assists in the Champions League.

David recently confirmed that he intends to leave Lille this summer in search of pastures new.

"Yes, I will be free at the end of the season. And as for my future, I hope to grow, to become a better player, and to play for the biggest clubs in the world, if I can," David told Onze Mondial.

"But first of all, I just want to have fun, never forget that football is fun. I started playing football because I had fun. And even though it has now become my job, you have to remember that I wake up every morning for football, for the pleasure of playing.

"Do you want any clues about my future? You will all know, in due time, that is at the end of the season. I will not comment before then. First of all, I want to finish this season well, the end looks exciting and I want to play well and help the team. And when the season is over, the decision will be made and announced."

Barca, Man United, Liverpool 'all in the running for David'

There has been a host of speculation surrounding his future of late, with Barcelona believed to have reignited their interest in him, as the Catalan outfit seek a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

According to TuttoJuve, Barcelona are firmly in the running for the Canada international, but there is also interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, West Ham United, Juventus and Inter Milan.

The report claims that Juventus view David as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, with the 25-year-old expected to be on the move during this summer's transfer window.

Man United are among the clubs to be linked with Vlahovic amid suggestions that the Serbia international could be available for as little as £25m due to his contract situation in Turin.

Which club will win the race for David?

David has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Man United and Liverpool seemingly well-placed to sign him, especially as both clubs want to bring in a new striker this summer.

However, news of Barcelona reigniting their interest is huge, and it is certainly possible that David could move to the Catalan giants this summer to support Robert Lewandowski next season, before becoming the starting striker during the 2026-27 campaign.

Players of David's age and ilk do not often become available on a free transfer, which makes the battle for his services very interesting.

The Canadian has scored 107 goals and registered 27 assists in 224 appearances for Lille, including 10 goals and two assists in 18 Champions League outings, showing his ability to perform at the highest level.
