Daniel James set for wage increase at Man United?

Manchester United could reportedly hand Daniel James a new £50,000-a-week contract having been impressed by the Wales international's form this season.

James joined the Red Devils from Swansea City in last summer's transfer window and has been a regular during the 2019-20 campaign, making 36 appearances in all competitions.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal worth £35,000 a week when he arrived at Old Trafford, but according to The Sun, United are set to hand him a pay rise to around £50,000 a week.

James has scored three times and registered six assists in 27 Premier League appearances this term.

The Welshman has largely operated as a wide player during his time at United but has also been used through the middle as a forward, notably against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City in recent months.

Leeds United had seemingly agreed a deal for the attacker last January before ultimately seeing the move fall through at the final moment when Swansea refused to sell.
