Cristiano Ronaldo to undergo Man United medical today?

Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly undergo his Manchester United medical in Lisbon on Sunday.

The Red Devils confirmed the 36-year-old's remarkable return to Old Trafford on Friday, just hours after unexpectedly leapfrogging cross-town rivals Manchester City in a dramatic race for his signature.

While Man United have agreed a fee of £12.8m up front and around £6.9m in add-ons, certain elements of the deal do still need to be completed before Ronaldo's return becomes official.

The Portugal international must gain a visa, finalise personal terms and complete a medical before Tuesday's 11pm deadline, and Sky Sports News reports that the latter will be ticked off the list this weekend.

Ronaldo is currently in Lisbon after flying there on a private jet from Turin on Friday, shortly after it was confirmed that he had asked to leave Juventus.

Gaining a visa and agreeing personal terms are not expected to be significant hurdles in the way of the deal being finalised, with Ronaldo expected to put pen to paper on a two-year deal in the North-West.

Recent reports have suggested that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be taking a pay cut of around £6m to complete the move, although he is still set to become the highest-paid player in Premier League history.

Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 appearances during his first spell at Man United between 2003 and 2009.
