Manchester City to hijack Manchester United's Sergio Ramos move?

Man City reportedly prepare to capitalise on the impasse in negotiations between Man United and Real Madrid for Sergio Ramos by bidding for the Spaniard.

Manchester City are reportedly poised to hijack rivals Manchester United's pursuit of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

The 29-year-old is reported to have told the club's hierarchy that he wants to leave, amid intense speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are said to have had a £35m bid rejected last week as the Blancos - who want goalkeeper David de Gea - are reportedly keen to negotiate a swap deal.

Consequently, the impasse in negotiations has opened the door for the Sky Blues to stake their claim for the Spain international, according to The Mirror.

Ramos, whom Real want some £68m for, is contracted to the Bernabeu club until 2017.
