Chelsea are reportedly willing to offer football advisor Luis Campos a £260m transfer budget should he decide to join the club from Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer football advisor Luis Campos a £260m transfer budget should he decide to join the club from Paris Saint-Germain.

Since the arrival of co-owner Todd Boehly and his consortium in May, the West Londoners have experienced a significant overhaul of the club's hierarchy and the first-team squad.

The most notable change was made last week when the Blues decided to part company with head coach Thomas Tuchel and replace him with Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter.

Boehly is now believed to be searching for a new sporting director, following the departure of Marina Granovskaia who left her post at the end of June.

A recent report claims that Chelsea have identified PSG chief Campos as one of their leading targets for the role and they have already made contact with the 58-year-old.

According to a separate report from Le Parisien, the Blues are prepared to offer Campos a salary worth £7m (€8m) and will hand him a £260m (€300m) transfer kitty to build a new squad along with newly-appointed head coach Potter.

The report adds that Campos would be able to continue his advisory role with PSG and work for Chelsea at the same time should he agree to link up with Boehly at Stamford Bridge, as his current contract with the French giants allows him to work for up to three different clubs.

Campos also holds a sporting director role with La Liga outfit Celta Vigo, so Chelsea could become the third and final club he can be employed at under his current contract.

Chelsea were the biggest spenders over the summer transfer window, signing nine players for a combined fee in excess of £270m.

Wesley Fofana was the club's most expensive signing at around £70m, while Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were also big-name additions, but Boehly is willing to give Campos the freedom to recruit his own players who suit Potter's philosophy.

The report adds, however, that Chelsea could face competition to recruit Campos from Nice owner Jim Ratcliffe, who is interested in buying Manchester United and bringing the Portuguese with him to Old Trafford.

Ratcliffe failed with a late bid to buy Chelsea before Boehly and his consortium stepped in, but the British billionaire and CEO of INEOS is now keen to move ahead of the Blues in their pursuit of Campos as he considers stepping up his interest in buying Man United.
