Premier League duo Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn, according to a report.

The 24-year-old has publicly revealed that he would like to leave the North-London outfit this summer in search of regular first-team football, and has stated that playing Champions League football in not a priority.

Manchester United have previously been credited with an interest in Bergwijn, but journalist Ekrem Konur claims that both Brighton and Crystal Palace are also in the race for the Dutchman's signature.

However, Konur adds that Bergwijn would prefer to return to his homeland and sign for Eredivisie champions Ajax, where he spent two years in the club's academy between 2009 and 2011.

Since January, Ajax are understood to have three bids for Bergwijn rejected by Spurs, but none of those offers matched the winger's £21.4m valuation.

Both Graham Potter and Patrick Vieira are looking to bolster their squads following successive 2021-22 Premier League campaigns with Brighton and Palace respectively, but it remains to be seen whether they would be prepared to match Tottenham's valuation of Bergwijn this summer.

The 19-cap Netherlands international, who still has three years remaining on his contract, started only four of his 25 Premier League appearances for Spurs last season, scoring three times and registering only one assist.
