Bournemouth 'to ward off Tottenham, Manchester United interest in David Brooks'

Bournemouth 'to ward off interest in Brooks'

Bournemouth reportedly plan to offer David Brooks a new contract in an effort to ward off interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

The Premier League duo are said to be sniffing around for the Wales international, who has been a big hit at the Vitality Stadium since joining from Sheffield United last summer.

Brooks has five goals and two assists in 20 top-flight outings this season, leading to suggestions that Spurs and United are considering a £40m end-of-season move.

According to the Daily Mail, however, Bournemouth are prepared to double the 21-year-old's wages to around £50,000-a-week, which they hope will be enough to put the rumours to bed.

Bournemouth are also believed to be bracing themselves for offers from Chelsea for Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson.
