Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund could supposedly go head-to-head for the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini this summer.
The 27-year-old only has 18 months left to run on his existing contract with Monchengladbach and is understandably being linked with an exit amid the uncertainty over a possible renewal.
Manchester United have been tipped to replace Luke Shaw with Bensebaini, while Barcelona are thought to be in the market for a new left-back to provide competition and backup for Jordi Alba.
Now, Sport1 reporter Patrick Berger claims that the Catalans will have to fight Dortmund for the left-back's signature, telling the Die Dortmund-Woche podcast: "It is true that Bensebaini absolutely wants to leave the club. He has already informed those responsible at Borussia Monchengladbach.
"There was a more intensive exchange between Bensebaini's new advisor and Sebastian Kehl in the last week. BVB has the player on the list and has been interested in him for a long time. Numbers and totals have not yet been exchanged."
Juventus have also been credited with an interest in Bensebaini, who has scored five goals and set up two more in 20 appearances for Monchengladbach this term.
