Arsenal transfer news: Gunners 'make contact' over deal for PSG attacker who is also wanted by Man United

Arsenal, Man United 'going head-to-head' for PSG attacker

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly both interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lee Kang-in.

The 24-year-old started his career at Valencia, representing Los Che's first team between 2018 and 2021 before moving to Mallorca, where his form earned him a switch to PSG in 2023.

The South Korea international has scored 13 goals and registered 11 assists in 86 appearances for the French champions in all competitions, including a goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Last season, Lee scored six goals and registered six assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances, while he also featured on 11 occasions in the Champions League.

The South Korean has a contract in Paris until the summer of 2028, but there is currently speculation surrounding his future, with a move away from the French capital this summer thought to be a possibility.

Arsenal, Man United 'both keen' on PSG attacker Lee

According to CaughtOffside, Man United are closely following Lee, with the Red Devils said to be huge admirers of his talents, while Napoli have also been credited with an interest.

The report claims that Arsenal have already been in touch with PSG to discuss a potential move, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done if an agreement is to be reached.

Lee mainly operates off the right, but he has demonstrated his versatility during his time in the French capital, also playing as a central attacking midfielder and a false nine.

Man United play a 3-4-3 formation, so Lee could potentially operate as one of the number 10s, while Arsenal generally operate in a 4-3-3, with a spot out wide most likely if the South Korean moved to the Emirates Stadium.

Will Lee leave PSG before the end of the transfer window?

Lee is a valuable squad member for PSG, so it is tough to see him leaving before the end of the transfer window unless a serious offer arrives.

Transfermarkt value the attacker at €25m (£21.6m), but he would cost more than that this summer considering his contribution to the cause last season.

Man United have already signed three first-team attackers this summer, but a late switch to Arsenal cannot be entirely ruled out, with the Gunners seemingly open to adding another player in that area of the field.
