The agent of Diogo Dalot says that there are no plans for the defender to leave Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Diogo Dalot is unlikely to leave Manchester United during the summer transfer window, according to his agent.

Since moving to Old Trafford in June 2018, the right-sided defender has only made 65 appearances in all competitions, less than half of those outings coming from the starting lineup in Premier League fixtures.

However, Dalot - now 23 years of age - made 19 starts in the top flight during the last campaign after dislodging Aaron Wan-Bissaka as first choice.

Despite Dalot's emergence for club and Portugal, speculation persists that newly-appointed boss Erik ten Hag will look to bring in a number of fresh faces during the coming months.

One of the players allegedly on his shortlist is Ajax's Jurrien Timber, the 20-year-old capable of playing at full-back and in the middle of the defence.

Nevertheless, Dalot's representative Carlo Goncalves has talked up the chances of his client remaining at Old Trafford, despite his contract being due to expire in 2023.

Speaking to 101 Great Goals, Goncalves said: "He is very happy at Manchester United. The season went well for him personally, but obviously, it didn't go well for Manchester United given the club's expectations. But we are expecting Diogo to stay for next season, for sure."

Dalot's chances of remaining with the Premier League giants could be helped by the sale of Wan-Bissaka, a long-term holder of the right-back position.

The 24-year-old's last appearance for United this season came in the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on April 19, an outing which could prove to be his last for the Red Devils.

At a time when United are said to be open to parting ways with the former Crystal Palace man, Roma manager Jose Mourinho has allegedly identified the full-back as a priority target.

United are expected to be proactive when it comes to making changes with their squad, a process which officially started on Wednesday as announcements were made regarding the departures of two high-profile players.

As expected, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard will both be leaving the club on free transfers, the pair both coming through the academy system to play a large chunk of their career in a United shirt.

Like-for-like replacements may not be immediately found with United seemingly focusing on trying to secure a deal for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.

Despite United failing to secure Champions League football for next season, the Uruguay international is reportedly keen to make the switch to Old Trafford.
