Adryan: 'I turned down Manchester United'

Flamengo midfielder Adryan has claimed that he turned down a transfer to Manchester United last year.

The 17-year-old was a reported target of Sir Alex Ferguson last summer, with speculation claiming that the Red Devils made their interest official by lodging a bid.

However, the Brazilian youth international opted to sign a new contract with his current employers.

"Man United did talk to me and showed interest," he told Globo Esporte.

"But I was not interested in moving at that point. Let's see if something adequate comes up in the future."

Adryan has been likened to Brazilian legend Zico.
