Potential Manchester United guard change at Old Trafford tonight

Sports Mole takes a look at the players that could be appearing at Old Trafford for the last time as a Manchester United player this evening.

There is every chance that it could be an emotionally-charged evening for some Manchester United players when they embark on a lap of the Old Trafford pitch following the conclusion of tonight's Premier League clash with Hull City.

With Louis van Gaal thought to be waiting in the wings, it's highly likely that following a massively disappointing campaign which cost David Moyes his job last month, a squad overhaul will take place.

Here, Sports Mole has picked out some players that could be representing the Red Devils for the final time in front of a home crowd.

Ryan Giggs
Appearances: 962 Goals: 168

At the age of 40, current interim boss Giggs may decide not now is the right time for him to hang up his boots. While he could well be waving goodbye to Old Trafford in a playing capacity, it remains to be seen if he will be a part of Van Gaal's coaching staff.

Nemanja Vidic
Appearances: 298 Goals: 21

The Serbian has already decided that he will not be a United player next season, having agreed a switch to Italian side Inter Milan. Vidic will depart with the best wishes of the fans, many of whom regard him to be one of the club's best ever defenders.

Rio Ferdinand
Appearances: 454 Goals: 8

Rumour has it that if he is to depart, Ferdinand may not get the opportunity to feature tonight because it is believed that Giggs has opted against selecting the centre-back against Hull. With his contract expiring in June, it seems that his 12-year association with United is coming to an end.

Patrice Evra
Appearances: 378 Goals: 10

Sitting in the same boat as Ferdinand, Evra is due to become a free agent shortly. With United said to be keen on Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, it seems that the club is preparing for life without the Frenchman.

Tom Cleverley
Appearances: 78 Goals: 5

The situation has got so bad for Cleverley that some United supporters have jeered his presence in the team at times this season. Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who had the England international on loan at Wigan Athletic, is believed to be an admirer.

Darren Fletcher
Appearances: 329 Goals: 24

The Scot's recovery to play despite the fact that he is suffering from a chronic bowel condition has been admirable, but with just 12 months left to run on his contract, United may decide to cash in, particularly as they look to make midfield improvements.

Marouane Fellaini
Appearances: 20 Goals: 0

While many United players were said to have been pleased to learn of Moyes's sacking, Fellaini has confessed to being disappointed. The Belgian has failed to produce the goods since his £27.5m switch from Everton last summer, which may well tempt United to cut their losses.

Nani

Despite a bright start to his United career, the Portuguese winger has failed to fulfil his early potential on a consistent basis. A move to Serie A has been mooted, with Juventus said to be very interested.

Ashley Young
Appearances: 86 Goals: 11

Injuries and a lack of form have limited the attacking midfielder to just 62 starts since 2011 arrival from Aston Villa. At the age of 28, Young should be entering his peak years, but he has struggled to live up to expectations. He would likely stay in the Premier League should he depart.

Shinji Kagawa
Appearances: 54 Goals: 6

He may not have shone as expected since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2012, but, in the Japanese international's defence, he has not often been utilised in his preferred position. Nevertheless, there is every chance that he could be used as a makeweight in a deal, perhaps to sign Marco Reus from Dortmund.

Javier Hernandez
Appearances: 151 Goals: 59

The Mexican's goalscoring exploits have made him a favourite among a number of United fans, but it's believed that he has grown frustrated at a lack of starting opportunities. With Robin van Persie thought to be Van Gaal's main striker and Wayne Rooney having recently signed a hefty contract, it could be time for Hernandez to move on.

Danny Welbeck
Appearances: 138 Goals: 29

Like Hernandez, rumour has it that Welbeck is disappointed at a lack of starts in a central striker's position. United have been heavily linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani and should the Uruguayan arrive, Welbeck's future may well be elsewhere. In recent weeks, Everton and Napoli have reportedly materialised as the frontrunners for his signature, although a positive performance with England at the World Cup may broaden the 23-year-old's options.
