How Manchester United could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

How Man United could line up against Brighton

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick could be without no fewer than five players for Saturday's Premier League battle with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw remain out for the long-term for the Red Devils, who will have Harry Maguire back in the fold and could also call upon the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka,

Jadon Sancho is unlikely to return any time soon from tonsillitis, meanwhile, and Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly will also miss the game with bronchitis and a back injury respectively.

While Maguire is now available for the Red Devils, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof should form part of an unchanged backline for the visitors after their 3-0 win over Brentford.

Rangnick may be tempted into a midfield alteration, though, with Fred potentially returning to the first XI over Nemanja Matic alongside Scott McTominay.

Juan Mata bode farewell to the Old Trafford crowd on Monday night - which is more than can be said for Jesse Lingard - and the Spaniard could hold his spot in the side in between Anthony Elanga and Bruno Fernandes.

Fresh from scoring his 18th Premier League goal of the season, Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line for Man United, who are aiming to avoid a fifth straight league defeat away from home.

Man United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Telles; Fred, McTominay; Elanga, Mata, Fernandes; Ronaldo
