Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Everton

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Everton

Manchester United will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 home loss to Fulham on February 24 before going down 3-1 to Manchester City in the Manchester derby on Sunday, with the back-to-back league defeats denting their Champions League hopes.

Erik ten Hag's side sit six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and 11 from fourth-placed Aston Villa in the Premier League table, demonstrating the need to pick up a positive result this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Everton, who currently occupy 16th spot in England's top flight.

Harry Maguire

Status: Out Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Liverpool)

Maguire has been absent for Man United's last two matches due to an unspecified injury, and the England international will again be unavailable for selection against Everton.

Omari Forson

Ten Hag said during his press conference on Friday that Forson would be missing for the clash with Everton due to an unspecified issue.

Rasmus Hojlund

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Liverpool)

Hojlund has missed Man United's last three matches with a muscular problem, and he will again be absent against Everton, but the striker should return against Liverpool.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia is now in individual training, as he bids to recover from a knee injury which has required two separate operations, but he is not yet ready to return to action.

Mason Mount

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: Unknown

Mount, who has had a difficult first season at Old Trafford, has recently been back in individual training after recovering from a calf issue, and Ten Hag is expecting him back after the international break.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Central defender Martinez will be out until at least the start of April due to the severe knee injury which he suffered against West Ham United in the Premier League at the start of February.

Anthony Martial

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

Martial, who has not featured for the Red Devils since early December, recently underwent a groin operation which will sideline him until at least the end of March.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Liverpool)

Wan-Bissaka was again absent against Man City last time out due to an issue which he picked up in training, but the defender is in line to return against Liverpool in the FA Cup next weekend.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw is facing "a few months" out with another muscular problem, with the left-back believed to be battling to return to action before the end of the season.

Tom Heaton

Status: Out Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: Unknown

Number three goalkeeper Heaton is currently not in training due to a fitness problem, but he is expected to return to the full sessions next week.
