Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Manchester United will be bidding to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they head to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday night.

The Red Devils entered the international break off the back of a 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, while they beat Everton 2-0 in their last league match on March 9.

Erik ten Hag's side sit six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and nine from fourth-placed Aston Villa in the Premier League table, demonstrating the importance of putting together a run of victories in England's top flight.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Brentford, who are currently 15th in the division.

Harry Maguire

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Brentford)

Maguire made his return from injury off the bench against Liverpool in the FA Cup before linking up with England, but he pulled out of the squad ahead of the Belgium match, and the centre-back is a major doubt for this weekend's clash with Brentford.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia is in individual training, as he bids to recover from a knee injury which has required two separate operations, but the Dutchman is likely to miss the rest of the campaign.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Brentford)

Martinez has been out since the start of February due to the knee injury which he suffered against West Ham United, but the centre-back linked up with the Argentina squad over the international break to step up his recovery, and he has a strong chance of being back in the squad for this match.

Anthony Martial

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

Martial, who has not featured for the Red Devils since early December, recently underwent a groin operation which will sideline him until at least the middle of next month.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw is facing "a few months" out with another muscular problem, with the left-back believed to be battling to return to action before the end of the season.

Altay Bayindir

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Brentford)

Man United were without their second-choice goalkeeper Bayindir against Liverpool due to a muscular injury, and he remains a doubt for the clash with Brentford.

Casemiro

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Brentford)

Man United were missing Casemiro against Liverpool due to a muscular problem, which also saw him pull out of the Brazil squad, and the experienced midfielder is therefore a major doubt for this match.

Jonny Evans

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Brentford)

Evans was absent against Liverpool due to an issue which he suffered in training, but the experienced centre-back is expected to be available for selection this weekend.

MANCHESTER UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

Amad Diallo

Status: Out Possible return date: April 4 (vs. Chelsea)

Amad was sent off for removing his shirt in the celebrations that followed his last-gasp winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup last time out, and he will serve his one-game suspension against Brentford.
