Italy boss Roberto Mancini emerges as a possible replacement for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly considering Italy boss Roberto Mancini as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should the Red Devils decide to sack the Norwegian.

Solskjaer eased the pressure on his shoulders with an impressive victory at Everton before the international break, but the 47-year-old's long-term future at Old Trafford is far from secure.

The likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann have been linked with the position in Manchester, but according to Tuttosport, Mancini is also admired by the Premier League club.

The report claims that the former Manchester City manager's work with Italy has impressed United, and the 55-year-old could be considered if there is a change of coach.

Mancini has won 17 of his 26 games in charge of the Italian national team, leading the Blues to next summer's European Championships courtesy of 10 wins from their 10 qualification fixtures.

The former striker managed City between 2009 and 2013, winning one Premier League title and one FA Cup during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
