Man United secure win at West Brom

Manchester United have secured a 3-0 win at West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

Following David Moyes's open letter to the United fans, his players responded with a good second-half performance to make sure of all three points at The Hawthorns.

The visitors controlled possession early on without threatening Ben Foster too much, as Adnan Januzaj and Juan Mata failed to create anything of note.

That was until the 28th minute when good work from Januzaj found Rafael da Silva at the back post, but his header was expertly tipped on to the crossbar by Foster.

Moments later the full-back was involved again, winning the free kick that lead to the opening goal. Robin van Persie fired towards the back post, where Phil Jones was on hand to nod the ball into the back of the net.

Foster then got away with an apparent handball outside his penalty area before West Brom fashioned two good chances of their own through Victor Anichebe and Claudio Yacob, but neither could find the equaliser.

After the break West Brom continued to press, with Zoltan Gera finding space inside the box after some good skill before Van Persie, already booked, was lucky not to be shown a second yellow card for a challenge on Steven Reid.

The Dutchman was then taken off, moments before United doubled their lead as some nice build-up play released Rafael, whose cross was headed in by Wayne Rooney from close range.

David de Gea and Rafael then produced good blocks to deny West Brom a goal before substitute Danny Welbeck added a third on the break, collecting Rooney's through-ball and slotting home past Foster.
