The second gameweek of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign kicks off with a London derby on Friday evening, as West Ham United welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium.
The early start on Saturday is also a cracker, as Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur, while the late kickoff sees Arsenal welcome newly-promoted Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium.
On Sunday, the pick of action comes from Craven Cottage, as Fulham prepare to welcome a Manchester United side that are looking for their first victory of the new Premier League season.
The action in this particular gameweek then draws a close on Monday evening, and it is another wonderful game, with Newcastle United welcoming Liverpool to St James' Park.
In the second set of fixtures, Sports Mole are facing off against Patrick King from electronic band, Real Lies.
Read on to discover Patrick's and our predictions for gameweek two of the 2025-26 campaign, in addition to a look at how singer Georgia performed in the opening set of fixtures this season.
West Ham United vs. Chelsea
Friday, 8pm
Patrick: West Ham 2-1 Chelsea
Sports Mole: West Ham 1-1 Chelsea
Chelsea did very little last weekend to suggest that they have improved much from last season, and their poor away form from 2024-25 is cause for concern.
While no team suffered a worse result than West Ham across the opening weekend, it is important not to judge too early, and they will be keen to make amends in front of their own fans under the lights.
Manchester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Saturday, 12.30pm
Patrick: Man City 3-4 Tottenham
Sports Mole: Man City 3-2 Tottenham
The last four Premier League meetings between Man City and Tottenham at the Etihad have produced 21 goals (nine for Man City, 12 for Spurs) and the away side have netted at least twice in each of those, so an entertaining, end-to-end contest could well be in store once again this weekend.
Spurs certainly have the tools to cause Man City problems and have a manager in Frank who has previously guided his former club Brentford to victory at the Etihad. However, Guardiola’s men sent out a statement to the rest of the league with their impressive win at Wolves and they should have enough to edge past the visitors on home soil.
Bournemouth vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
Saturday, 3pm
Patrick: Bournemouth 0-0 Wolves
Sports Mole: Bournemouth 2-1 Wolves
The Vitality Stadium is historically a happy hunting ground for Wolves, but the Old Gold's sensational South Coast streak appears destined to come to an end this weekend.
Facing a Semenyo-inspired Bournemouth with two new attacking talents in tow, Pereira's defence may not hold out for long, and we have faith in Iraola's men to get up and running at the second attempt.
Saturday, 3pm
Patrick: Brentford 3-6 Aston Villa
Sports Mole: Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa
A total of 75 Premier League goals were scored at the Gtech Community Stadium last season, the most of any venue, and Brentford both scored and conceded two or more goals on eight occasions on home soil, the most of any top-flight team since Wigan Athletic in 2012-13.
The net is therefore likely to ripple at both ends this weekend, and while Brentford will be keen to make an impression under Andrews in his first home match, Aston Villa will enter this contest as favourites and Emery’s men should have more joy in the final third this time around after drawing a blank against Newcastle.
Burnley vs. Sunderland
Saturday, 3pmPatrick: Burnley 2-3 Sunderland
Sports Mole: Burnley 0-2 Sunderland
Just one goal has been scored across the last three meetings between Burnley and Sunderland, and another closely-contested battle could be in store this weekend.
Both teams will view this fixture as a strong opportunity to claim all three points and although the Clarets boast home advantage, we are backing the Black Cats to follow up their brilliant opening-day win with another triumph at Turf Moor.
Saturday, 5.30pm
Patrick: Arsenal 0-5 Leeds
Sports Mole: Arsenal 2-0 Leeds
Rather than struggle to fashion any sort of chances against Man United, Arsenal enjoyed several promising forays forward, only for the final pass to let them down on too many occasions.
However, the Gunners should click into gear back on their own turf, where they ought to break Leeds' resistance early and subsequently capitalise on defensive gaps opening up when Farke's men go in search of a response.
Crystal Palace vs. Nottingham Forest
Sunday, 2pm
Patrick: Crystal Palace 3-1 Nottingham Forest
Sports Mole: Crystal Palace 1-1 Nottingham Forest
All six meetings between the two in the Premier League since Forest were promoted in 2022 have ended level or been decided by a 1-0 scoreline, so another tight encounter is expected here.
Forest have strengthened greatly in the past week, while Palace have been weakened by the imminent departure of Eze, but the hosts are still strong in many areas, and will be competitive here.
Everton vs. Brighton & Hove Albion
Sunday, 4pm
Patrick: Everton 0-0 Brighton
Sports Mole: Everton 0-2 Brighton
Everton showed nothing for their fans or onlookers to be enthused about at Leeds last week, and with no new additions brought in since, it is tough to see what will change.
Brighton should have beat Fulham last weekend, and have a very good record away to Everton, so it is no surprise to see them start as favourites.
Fulham vs. Manchester United
Sunday, 4pmPatrick: Fulham 2-5 Man United
Sports Mole: Fulham 1-2 Man United
The 1-0 scoreline against Arsenal did not tell the full story for Man United, who showcased plenty of attacking intent but lacked ruthlessness when it mattered most, as well as facing a goalkeeper in inspired form.
If Amorim's new-look attack can generate a similar volume of chances here, a record-breaking victory could be on the cards, as Fulham's offensive forces should not match up to the £200m Sesko-Mbeumo-Cunha trio.
Newcastle United vs. Liverpool
Monday, 8pm
Patrick: Newcastle 3-4 Liverpool
Sports Mole: Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool
As frail as Liverpool can be defensively, an Isak-less Newcastle are not exactly well-placed to capitalise on such weaknesses, especially if last weekend's profligate performance is anything to go by.
Howe's men will have success on the counter with a little more ruthlessness, but a full-strength Liverpool attack can bite back even harder to make it two for two on Monday.
Patrick King Q&A
How did you come to support Luton and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?
Patrick: Favourite memory was when defensive midfielder Keith Keane lined up a free kick from just outside the box and skied his effort so high that it hit and broke the guttering on the edge of the roof of the stand.
The guttering proceeded to dangle above the head of the opposition goalkeeper, halting the game for about 10 mins until two men ran on with a stepladder to yank the rest of the pipes down so play could continue. With theatre like that, I was hooked on Luton Town for life.
Who have been your favourite five players for Luton?
Patrick: Ian Roper, Steve McNulty, Fankaty Dabo Landry Zahana-Oni, Bontcho Guentchev. What's going on with the band at the moment?
Patrick: We've just released a single called 'Let The Lips Fall Where They May', off the back of the release of our third album, 'We Will Annihilate Our Enemies'.
We only deal in titles that are full sentences. We're off to Lost Village festival this weekend to cause further chaos, and we're performing and signing records at London's Rough Trade East on 10th Sept.
‘Let The Lips Fall Where They May’ by Real Lies is available to stream now.
