Man United lineup vs. Newcastle: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Ruben Amorim makes Andre Onana decision

Amorim set to make Onana decision: Predicted Man United lineup vs. Newcastle

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will have to decide whether to keep faith with Andre Onana for Sunday's Premier League meeting with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

The Man United goalkeeper was at fault for both of Lyon's goals in Thursday's 2-2 draw in the Europa League quarter-final first leg.

Amorim now has a tough decision as to whether to stick with Onana for the weekend, or take him out of the spotlight ahead of next week's return fixture against Lyon.

The Man United boss may be tempted to opt for the latter by giving Altay Bayindir the chance to make his Premier League debut against the Magpies.

Harry Maguire could drop out of the backline in a bid to manage minutes, which could see Victor Lindelof start in defence alongside Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro.

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are set to keep their spots at right and left wing-back respectively, although there could be a change in central midfield if Amorim decides to rest Casemiro.

Such a move could give Mason Mount the chance to start after making three consecutive substitute appearances since his return to injury.

Mount could feature in one of the two number spots with Alejandro Garnacho, which would force Bruno Fernandes to drop into central midfield alongside Manuel Ugarte.

Joshua Zirkzee is in contention to replace Rasmus Hojlund up front after the Dutchman came off the bench to score in Thursday's draw against Lyon.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo will hope to get more minutes from the bench after returning from injury to feature as a late substitute in France.

However, the Red Devils remain without the services of Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven, Toby Collyer and Amad Diallo.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: Bayindir; Mazraoui, Lindelof, Yoro; Dalot, Fernandes, Ugarte, Dorgu; Garnacho, Mount; Zirkzee
