Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha wants to force his way into the starting lineup during the upcoming season.

Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has ruled out the possibility of leaving the club on loan this season, insisting that he wants to fight for his place in the starting lineup.

Zaha, who scored his first goal for the Red Devils in stoppage time of their 2-2 draw with Cerezo Osaka earlier today, has been linked with a loan move to former club Crystal Palace as he did for the second half of last season.

"My own target for my first season in Manchester is to be able to get minutes. I don't want to go out on loan or anything. I just want to play when I get the chance," Zaha told reporters.

"That is the gamble I had to take. I am prepared to take that gamble. I enjoyed my time at Palace but I am at Manchester United now. There are bigger players than me here, so getting minutes will just do me fine."

United's competitive season gets underway on August 11 against Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield, before their opening Premier League match away to Swansea City six days later.
