Nemanja Vidic says that Manchester United have learnt from the mistakes they made last season.

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has insisted that his side have learnt their lessons from last season's disappointment.

The Serbian fell victim to injury during the campaign and watched on as United crashed out of Europe in the group stages of Champions League before being knocked out of the Europa League and surrendering their Premier League title to rivals Manchester City.

However, Vidic is adamant that the Red Devils have analysed where they went wrong last year and are determined to get back to their best for the upcoming season.

"We had some young players play a lot of games last season. They'll have learned a lot. We all learned," said Vidic.

"In Europe we've had so much success in recent years and maybe relaxed a bit. We were punished and can't allow that to happen again.

"To lose the league title was hard for us but is forgotten now and we are only thinking of becoming the owners of the English championship again."

United start their Premier League campaign at Everton on Monday night.
