Nemanja Vidic: 'Fans will do us proud at Anfield'

Nemanja Vidic says that the Manchester United fans will behave when they travel to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has insisted that the club's fans will do themselves proud when they face Liverpool on Sunday.

The game will be the Reds' first match at Anfield since the release of the Hillsborough report last week and comes eight days after United supporters were heard singing anti-Liverpool chants against Wigan Athletic.

However, Vidic is confident that the Red Devils fans won't let them down during the clash with the Merseysiders.

"I don't think we should put so much pressure on our fans," said Vidic. "People always try to make a big thing out of a small one but I don't have any worries.

"We have shown many times in the past and I think we will be proud of them.

"The big teams respect each other and we are going to play football."

United beat Galatasaray 1-0 in their Champions League opener on Wednesday night.
