Sir Dave Brailsford's position as a director of Manchester United has officially come to an end.
Brailsford was appointed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe in early 2024 after the British billionaire became a minority shareholder of the 20-time English champions.
The 62-year-old was heavily involved in the revamp of Man United's training complex, but there was an announcement last summer that he would be stepping away from the Red Devils.
Brailsford's name was still listed as a director in the match programme for Man United's Premier League clash with Liverpool last weekend.
However, it has since been revealed that Brailsford role was "terminated" on April 30, with his position on the Man United board now officially ending.
Brailsford's Man United exit has been confirmed
Brailsford has returned to his role as director of sport for INEOS, so he will still be working closely with Ratcliffe, who is a part-owner of Man United.
Omar Berrada's arrival as Man United's CEO was overseen by Brailsford, who spent a year in charge of the football operations at Old Trafford.
A disastrous 2024-25 season saw Man United finish 15th in the Premier League, while the Red Devils were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
However, the 20-time English champions have confirmed a return to the Champions League for the 2026-27 campaign, with the team currently third in the Premier League table.
Carrick is expected to be appointed Man United's permanent head coach
Man United CEO Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox are in charge of the process which will end with the club appointing a head coach at the end of the season.
Michael Carrick's work at the helm since replacing Ruben Amorim in January has been exceptional, with the Englishman guiding the team to 10 wins, two draws and two defeats in the Premier League.
Carrick is regarded as the firm favourite to secure the job on a permanent basis, with an announcement potentially being made before the end of the campaign.
