Scott McTominay breaks goalscoring record in Man Utd rout over Leeds United

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay becomes the first player in Premier League history to net twice inside the opening three minutes of a game.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay broke a Premier League goalscoring record in the Red Devils' 6-2 thrashing of Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.

The Scotland international took just 67 seconds to break the deadlock at Old Trafford, with McTominay netting his second of the game only a couple of minutes later to set United on their way to a resounding win.

Victor Lindelof, Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes (2) all got in on the act for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side as well, but it was McTominay who stole the headlines with his record-breaking quickfire double.

The 24-year-old became the first player ever to net two goals inside the first three minutes of a Premier League game, with McTominay also going on to assist James's goal against the Whites.

On the other hand, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa witnessed one of his teams ship six goals for the first time in 28 years, with the 65-year-old previously losing 6-0 with his Newell's Old Boys side to San Lorenzo in February 1992.

The Red Devils' crushing win over Leeds moved them up to third in the Premier League table - level on points with fourth-placed Everton, whom they meet in Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final showdown.
