Romelu Lukaku vows to return to Anderlecht

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that playing for boyhood club Anderlecht was always his "dream" and he plans on returning to the club before ending his career.

The 24-year-old was given his first taste of senior football with the Belgian side in 2009 and earned moves to Chelsea, Everton and Man United.

Despite recent criticism, Lukaku still boasts a more-than-respectable tally of 97 goals in 212 appearances during his time in the Premier League, but he intends to quit English football to return to his homeland further down the line.

"My dream was always to play for Anderlecht," he told HLN. "Before the end of my career I will definitely return, I can already promise that. I had a wonderful time there."

Lukaku, a £90m signing from Everton last summer, leads the scoring charts for United this season with 18 goals in all.
