Harry Redknapp: 'Dele Alli better prospect than Paul Pogba'

Harry Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur have a better talent in their ranks than Juventus when comparing the long-term qualities of Dele Alli and Paul Pogba.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that he would prefer to have Dele Alli in his team over £100m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Widespread reports of late suggest that Pogba could be on his way back to former side Manchester United in a nine-figure deal, making him the world's most expensive ever player.

Redknapp is in no doubt of the long-term potential of Pogba, but believes that Spurs and England ace Alli will prove to be the better team player in the coming years.

Speaking to Betsafe, he said: "If I was the owners of Manchester United, I'd be very aggrieved in that we actually let him go on a free transfer and we've now got to pay £100m to get him back.

"I don't think I'd like that, I think my pride would stop me from paying a player £100m when we gave him away. He's a great player, there's no doubt about that, but I wouldn't swap him for Dele Alli. If you asked me, Dele Alli or Pogba who do you want? I'm taking Dele Alli in the long term."

Any decision over Pogba's future is unlikely to be made prior to Sunday night's Euro 2016 final between France and Portugal, which the Juventus man is expected to start for Les Bleus.
